Lat 5° 54' 56S Long 155° 17' 31E  Tenakau is located on the eastern coast of Bougainville Island. Also known as "Tenekow". On wartime maps, also spelled "Tenekai" or "Tenekau". Today, located in Central Bougainville District in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
