Pingtung is located on the southern coast of Taiwan (Formosa) in the Southern Taiwan Region. During the Japanese colonial era known as Chosu. is a town with rail yards, warehouses, and factories, radio station and power facilities on Formosa (Taiwan).

Wartime History
Chosu was occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War and the site of rail yards, warehouses, factories, radio station and power facilities. In early 1945, attacked by American aircraft.
