Lat 03 ° 07' S Long 126 ° 52' E  Boeroe Island is located to the west of Seram Island (Ceram Island) in the Moluccas Islands (Maluku). Wartime spelling was "Buru" or "Buroe". Prewar and during the Pacific War, located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in Maluku Province (Moluccas Islands) in Indonesia.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese when they occupied the NEI. the duration of the Pacific War until the official surrender of Japan in early September 1945. During 1944-1945 attacked by American bombers and fighters.
