Lat 3° 58' 17S Long 122° 34' 40E  Kendari is located in Southeast Sulawesi Province on the southeastern arm eastern coast of Sulawesi (Celebes) in Indonesia. Also known as Kendari Town. Borders Kendari Harbor.

Wartime History
On January 23, 1942 the Japanese arrived off Kendari. On January 24, 1942 they began landing at Kendari. Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War. Starting in late January 1942 attacked by Allied aircraft then Allied attacks resumed in early 1943 until the middle of February 1945.
