    Amisira Sarmi Regency | Papua Province Indonesia
Location
Lat 1° 57' 33S Long 138° 36' 11E  Amisira is an inland village located in the Sarmi Regency in Papua Province of Indonesia. Located at an elevation of 223' / 67m. To the northeast is ten miles away is Sarmi. Prewar and during World War II, located in Dutch New Guinea (DNG) in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in Sarmi Regency of Papua Province in Indonesia.

Wartime History
During late 1944, Amisira was occupied or patrolled by the Japanese Army. During early October 1944, three crew members from F-7B Liberator 44-40422 were captured and executed near Amisira: 2nd Lt. Thomas Rafael, Sgt Herbert G. Julian and Sgt Samuel T. Catlin. All three were executed near Amisira. Postwar, Japanese Army Captain Satoru Ona was put on trial and found guilty and hanged for this war crime in Manila.
