    MacCluer Gulf (McCluer, Teluk Berau) West Papua Province Indonesia
Location
MacCluer Gulf is located on the southern coast of western New Guinea. Also spelled "McCluer Gulf" or Mccluer Gulf". The eastern end is Bentoni Bay (Bintuni Bay, Teluk Bintuni, Teloek Bentoni). Inside is Geboken Island. In Indonesian known as Teluk Berau. Prewar, during the Pacific War located in Dutch New Guinea (DNG) in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Between 1963–1973 part of West Irian (Irian Barat) and during 1973-2002 known as Irian Jaya. Today located in Teluk Bintuni Regency in West Papua Province (Papua Barat, West Irian Jaya) in Indonesia.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese until the end of the Pacific War. During 1944, attacked by Allied aircraft.
