The map shows the area of southern Okinawa Island. To the east is Buckner Bay (Nakagusuku Bay). Indicated is Iwa, Tomui (Tomori), Mount Yaese (Mt. Yaese, Yaese Escarpment) including Yaeju-Dake (Big Apple), Yaza-Dake and Hill 153, Yonagusuku (Yonagushiku) and Yoza (Yuza). The solid line "–X X X–" indicates the boundary line between the U. S. Marine Corps (USMC) III Amphibious Corps to the west and U. S. Army XXIV Corps to the east.
