    Amuro Island Kerama Island Group | Okinawa Prefecture Japan
Amuro Island is part of the Kerama Island Group (Kerama Islands) in the Shimajiri District in Okinawa Prefecture in Japan. Borders Kerama Anchorage to the east and the Aka Anchorage to the west. To the north is larger Zamami Island. Roughly fifteen miles to the east is Okinawa Island.

Wartime History
On March 27, 1945 the U. S. Army 77th Infantry Division, 305th Infantry Regiment LSTs made an amphibious landing at Amuro Island after occupying Zamami Island.
