The Gotō Islands (Gotō-rettō) 五島列島 meaning "five-island archipelago" are located in the East China Sea in Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan. In English, spelled Goto Islands, Goto-Retto or Goto Retto Island Group. To the north is Tsushima Island in the Tsushima Strait. To the east is the western coast of Kyūshū Island. The Goto Islands are comprised (from south to north) Fukue Island (Fukuejima), Hisakajima, Narushima, Wakamatsujima, Nakadorijima and Nakadōri Island (Nakadorijima), Tera Island, Maego Island and Uku Island (Ukashima) plus other smaller islands.
