Location Tanauan is located at an elevation of 3' on the east coast of Leyte in Leyte Province in the Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) of the Philippines. Connected by Highway 1 that runs north to south. To the north is Palo and beyond Tacloban. To the south is Tolosa and beyond Dulag. Another Highway loop connects westwards to Dagami then south to Burauen then back to Dulag. To the east is Leyte Gulf.
