Lat 7° 17' 12S Long 146° 49' 5E  Black Cat is located on a ridge top at an elevation of 5,869' / 1,788m near Black Cat Pass in New Guinea. Also known as simply "Black Cat" or "Blackcat" (one word). Prewar, connected by the Black Cat Track to Guadagasel with connecting trails to either Wau to the southwest or Sanananda to the northeast. Today located in in Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

During the 1930s, a gold mine was established at Black Cat.
