Location
Dove Bay is located in East Sepik Province in Papua New Guinea. Borders Cape Moem to the west and Brandi to the south on the north coast of New Guinea. Further to the west is Boram and Wewak.

Wartime History
On December 18, 1942 occupied by the Japanese Army when they landed at Wewak. During the Japanese occupation, Dove Bay was used as a Japanese anchorage. Used by the Japanese as an anchorage for shipping. During May 1945, Cape Moem was subjected to heavy artillery and bombing by Australian forces advancing from the west. On May 22, 1945 captured by the Australian Army 2/8 Infantry Battalion against light opposition.
