    Pak Island Manus Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)

Lat 2° 4' 0S Long 147° 37' 60E  Pak Island is located off Manus Island and Rambutyo Island in the Admiralty Island Group (Admiralty Islands). Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in Manus Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Wartime History
On April 9, 1943 the 1st Squadron of the 12th Cavarly occupied Pak Island. Three prisoners, captured on April 10, 1944, had escaped from Rambutyo by native canoe. On 12 April more Japanese were found on the east end of Pak and destroyed, eight of them in a large coral cave from which they fought until the cave was blown in on them by a demolition section from the 8th Engineers.
