Location Lat 4° 20' 60S Long 152° 20' 60E Tokua is located on Cape Gazelle at the northeast tip of the Gazelle Peninsula on New Britain. Borders To the west is Rapopo and beyond Kokopo. Between 1884 until September 1914 part of Deutsch Neu Guinea (German New Guinea). Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the New Britain District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in East New Britain Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG). Prewar Tokua Plantation was established at this location planted with coconut palms for harvesting copra. Wartime History During late January 1942 occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War.
