3rd Kure Special Naval Landing Force (3rd Kure SNLF) at Kure Barracks in Kure in Japan
(Front row) Lt(jg) Kakichi Yoshimoto and Lt. Comdr. Minoru Yamo commander of 3rd SNLF. During May 1942 this force occupied Tulagi Island and fought U.S. Marines on August 7-8, 1942 until all were killed in the combat.
