Commanding Officer (C.O.) of the 28th Infantry Regiment "Ichiki Regiment". On August 21, 1942 during the Battle of the Tenaru (Battle of the Ilu River/Alligator Creek) Ichiki was Killed In Action (KIA) reportedly by mortar fire at Tenaru on Guadalcanal.
