Location
Located on the west coast of the United States bordering the Pacific Ocean to the east, Oregon to the north, Nevada to the east and Mexico to the south. Arizona to the southeast.

Wartime History
California has many major Naval bases, barracks and airfields used during WWII. San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego were gateways for millions of American servicemen on their way to or from the Pacific.

San Diego County
San Diego  eighth largest city in the U. S. includes US Navy bases and embarcation point during World War II.
Torrey Pines  located at the northern edge of San Diego and La Jolla.

Los Angeles County
Los Angeles  second largest city in the U. S. includes airfields, and factories in World War II.
San Pedro  borders San Pedro Bay and includes the Port of San Pedro.
Long Beach  borders San Pedro Bay adjoins San Pedro.
El Segundo  borders the Pacific Ocean to the north is Los Angeles Airport
Burbank  located to the north of Los Angeles.

Riverside  includes March Field (March AFB, March Air Reserve Base)

Ventura County
Camarillo  located to the north of Los Angeles

Santa Barbara County
Santa Barbara  borders the Pacific Ocean in Santa Barbara County.

Sacramento County
Sacramento  located in the Sacramento Valley state capital of California.

Merced County
Dos Palos located in n the northern San Joaquin Valley section of the Central Valley

San Francisco County
San Francisco  thirteenth largest city in the U. S. borders San Francisco Bay embarcation point in World War II.
Treasure Island  located in San Francisco Bay.

Solano County
Mare Island  located to the north of San Francisco Bay.

San Mateo County
San Bruno  located to the south of San Francisco.

Alameda  borders San Francisco Bay includes NAS Alameda.
