Ship History
Built by Mare Island Navy Yard at Mare Island, California. Laid down October 28 1935. Launched January 12 1937. Commissioned August 14 1937.

Wartime History
After the Battle of the Coral Sea, USS Henley rescued 109 survivors from USS Neosho AO-23 and 14 survivors from USS Sims DD-409.

Sinking History
On October 3 1943 sunk by Japanese Submarine RO-108 off Cape Cretin near Finschafen.
