Brandi Secondary School
At the very end of the war, the Brandi area, east of Wewak was the front line of fighting between the Japanese and Australian soldiers. In the hills, many Japanese held out until the end of the war and a few months after the surrender before they finally gave up.

The Brandi Secondary School is located here. The school has a collection of war relics discovered in the surrounding area over the years, including aerial bomb fragments, and Japanese relics, including the barrel of a 75mm AA gun, searchlight and heavy machine gun on its mount. The search light is well persevered, and even the original rubber of the tires remains to this day.

Brandi Caves
The Japanese Army forces were prepared to fight a long and entrenched war against any approaching troops, as is evident from many trenches and rumors of hidden equipment caches nearby.
