Aircraft History
The backward 'E' translates into YO, for 'Yokosuka', this aircraft was the
43rd Yokosuka Naval Air Group. The number 63 at the end of the
model and type designator indicates that this particular
aircraft was equipped with Nakajima Sakae 31-B aircraft engine
without menthanol water injection and having a two stage supercharger.

Prize
Captured at Yokosuka at the end of the war, the aircraft
was taken to the United States, where it was tested
Restoration & Display
After testing it was displayed at NAS Willow
Grove until 1962, when it was aquired by the National
Air & Space Museum and paritially restored at Bradley
Air Museum. Then, it was loaned to the San
Diego Aerospace Museum, where its restoration was completed
and it is on public display.
