Aircraft History Built by Curtiss in Buffalo, New York. Constructors Number 18505. Originally intended for the Royal Air Force (RAF) as Kittyhawk Mark IA serial number ET630. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-40E-1 Warhawk serial number 41-35984. Wartime History Disassembled and shipped as part of lend-lease to the Soviet Union. Assigned to the Voenno-Vozdushnye Sily (VSS), wartime history unknown. This P-40 was abandoned in the Soviet Union. Wreckage During the 1990s, salvaged and exported from Russia. Restoration Owned by Ken Hake of Kansas. Shipped to Australia, this P-40 was restoration on the Gold Coast of Australia. Next owned by Murray Griffith of Precision Aerospace where restoration continued, funded by Gerald Yagen. Painted in the markings of P-40E Kittyhawk A29-113 assigned to S/Ldr Richard "Dick" Cresswell at Darwin. Contribute
