Location
Lat 4° 49' Long 10.9" Sum Sum is located on the southeastern coast of New Britain. Also known as "Sumsum". Borders Adler Bay to the east. Today located in East New Britain Province in Papua
New Guinea (PNG).
Prewar
Sum Sum Plantation was at this location, planted with coconut palms harvesting copra.
Wartime History
During the middle of January 1942, group of 25 RAAF personnel that had evacuated from Rabaul found a yacht at Sum Sum and saild to Tol on Wide Bay.
