Aircraft History Built by Nakajima. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as A6M2 Model 21 Zero manufacture number 916. Assigned to an unknown Kōkūtai. Mission History This Zero was shot down near Darwin. Bob Alford adds: "Whilst in Darwin in April 2009, I hope to get out to the crash site of Nakajima A6M2 916, weather and the bush permitting. This is a real mystery aircraft, not so much in its identification but in the pilot and the date/circumstances of the incident."
