Aircraft History Built by Nakajima. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as A6M2 Model 21 Zero manufacture number unknown. Wartime History Assigned to an unknown Kōkūtai. No known markings or tail code. This Zero was disabled or abandoned at Kara Airfield (Buin Airport). Wreckage Until the early 1980s, this Zero was abandoned at Kara Airfield (Buin Airport). The wreckage included the center section and rear fuselage. Nearby, a tail section and engine remain that might be associated with this Zero. Nearby is another A6M2 Zero center section.
