Aircraft History Built by Mitsubishi. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as A6M3 Model 32 Zero manufacture number unknown. Wartime History Assigned to the ? Kōkūtai (Air Group). No known markings. This Zero was abandoned near the runway at Gasmata Airfield. Wreckage Missing the tail section and engine broken off at the mounts. It is unclear if this wreck still remains today or has been scrapped. Brian Bennett adds: "Destroyed in the mid 1980's when locals dropped a tree along creek that hit it from wingtip to wingtip. The instrument pannel from this aircraft was recovered, and used on the Australian War Memorial restoration of A6M2 5784." Contribute
