Aircraft History Built by Douglas. Constructors Number 7937. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as AD-4W Skyraider bureau number 127922. Assigned to the Royal Navy (RN) to the Fleet Air Arm as Skyraider AEW.1 serial numbr WT987 to 849 Naval Air Squadron. Stricken off charge July 17, 1962. Transfered to Scottish Aviation and converted for target-towing. Display This Skyraider is displayed aboard USS Midway (CV-41) as part of the USS Midway Museum. References Navy Serial Number Search Results - AD-4W Skyraider 127922 "127922 (MSN 7937) after service with USN and major overhaul, went to Fleet Air Arm as Skyraider AEW.1 WT987. SOC Jul 17, 1962 and to Scottish Aviation, where it was converted for target-towing. First flight after conversion was Feb 13, 1963 with Class B registration G-31-3. To Svensk Flygtjanst AB of Bromma Jun 1963 as SE-EBL, SOC Feb 18, 1980. Acquired by D. Tallichet/Military Aircraft Restoration Corporation of Anaheim, CA, registered N5469Y Sep 14, 1984. To National Warplane Museum, Geneseo, NY in 1989, don't know if the airplane moved with the museum to Elmira. Later to 1941 Historic Aircraft Group, Genesco, NY.
