Background
Built by Avro 618 Ten (Avro X) was a license built versions of the Fokker F.VIIB/3m for sale in the British Empire with the exclusion of Canada. The plane had a crew of two plus capacity for ten passengers and cargo. The Avro 618 Tex was first displayed at the 1929 Olympia Aero Show. The first five built were purchased by Australian National Airways Ltd. (ANA) and entered service on January 1, 1930 flying on the route from Brisbane to Sydney and later Melbourne to Sydney.
