Aircraft History Built by Boeing at Seattle. Constructors Number 2223. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-17E Flying Fortress serial number 41-2412. Wartime History On December 27, 1941 assigned to the 6th Air Force (6th AF) in Panama. On March 21, 1942 to McClellan Airfield to the Sacramento Army Air Depot (SAAD). On April 18, 1942 arrives Guatemala. During June 1942 returns to McClellan Airfield. On December 15, 1942 returns to Guatemala. By 1944, returned to the United States. On August 3, 1944 reported at Arledge Field in Texas. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped. References USAF Serial Number Search Results - B-17E Flying Fortress 41-2412 "2412 (7th BG) damaged on ground at Bandoeng, Java Feb 20, 1942 [incorrect] and may have been abandoned.
