B-17E "Frank Buck" 41-2659 nickname on the right side of the nose at Hood Point
The nickname "Frank Buck" is painted in white in a cursive outline with a single quotation mark around the name. Above the "k B" is a scoreboard with five Japanese rising sun flags. Three windows are visible with a gun socket in the forward window. At the far left is the cockpit and at the right is the nose cone. Inside the Norden bombsight has a canvas cover atop. On the right side of the nose below the nickname is the pitot tube. The upper portion of the nose is painted olive drab and the lower portion gray.
