Aircraft History Built by Consolidated at San Diego at a cost of $259,276. Constructors Number 840. On October 13, 1942 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24D-15-CO Liberator serial number 41-24045 and flown to Albuquerque, NM then onward to St. Paul, MN. On November 12, 1942 flown to McClellan Airfield (Sacramento Air Depot). On November 14, 1942 ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 90th Bombardment Group, 320th Bombardment Squadron. Nicknamed "Mitsu Butcher" and flew many bombing missions over New Guinea. During June 1945, returned to the United States and salvaged at , Searcey Field in Stillwater, OK. On February 19, 1946 sold by War Assets Corp to Paul Mantz.
