Enterprise-Journal "Presumed Dead" about SSg Lawson Stewart
"S-Sgt Lawson Stewart husband of Mrs. Ethel Reeves Stewart of Summit, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stewart, Moss, Miss., who has been declared 'presumed dead' by the War Department after having been missing in action over New Ireland, in the Pacific, since Dec. 30, 1943. His wife received a telegram from the War Department last Sunday informing her that subsequent information concerning Sgt Stewart had never been obtained and that a presumptive finding of death in action had been made. He was in the Army Air Force at the time of the action from which he never returned."
