Into Darkness photo page: "The center section of the horizontal stabilizer showed clear evidence that metal tear forces, forces beyond the tensile strength of the metal's design capacity, were the cause of the crash. Progressive fractures, such a the ones that caused this crash, are often due to the vibration of the vertical fin over a long period of time under overload conditions, such as those frequently experienced in combat."
