B-24D "Heather Angel" 42-72783 left side of the nose with nickname and nose art
Nicknamed "Heather Angel" with the nose art of a nude brunette angle with folded wings with her arms extended standing atop a wing. Also known as "783" for the last three digits of the serial number in large block digits atop the U.S. Army Air Force serial number. On the left side of the nose was a scoreboard with bomb markings indicating bombing missions flown. The white areas of the photograph were removed by a U.S. censored.
