Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated at San Diego. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24M-10-CO Liberator serial number 44-41982. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia.

Wartime History
Assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as B-24L Liberator serial number A72-189. No known nickname or nose art. Assigned to 1 Comm Unit (1 CU) and modified into a transport for Australian Army General Thomas Blamey. Next, assigned to 82 Wing as a VIP transport operated by No. 21 Squadron.

On October 26, 1945 landed at Boram Airfield with General Thomas A. Blamey aboard to inspect troops of the 6th Division. This was the first landing by an Allied heavy bomber on the runway and several photographs were taken of his arrival.

Postwar
This Liberator likely stopped flying by September 1948 and was placed into storage. During June 1950 sold. Ultimate fate unknown likely scrapped.
