Named after Captain John L. "Blackie" Porter who more than 2,250 flight hours and established a permanent search and rescue squadron for missing air crews over the "Hump". On December 10, 1943 took off piloting this bomber on a search mission and was shot down and crashed and remains listed as Missing In Action (MIA). In the background to the left is another parked B-25 Mitchell.
