B-25D "Tondelayo" 41-30669 left side of the nose parked in New Guinea
This bomber was converted into a B-25D-1 strafer version with .50 caliber machine guns added to the nose. On the left side of the nose is nickname "Tondelayo" and nose art of with the nose art of "Tondelayo" played by Hedy Lamarr in the Hollywood movie White Cargo (1942). Below the pilot's window is a scoreboard with ten Japanese rising sun flags indicating aircraft claimed by gunners, the silhouette of a ship claimed as sunk and bomb markings with star indicating missions flown. Below the pilot's window is Boppo Dick Alice and stenciled pilot and crew chief.
