Cpl William B. Pearl in uniform
On November 10, 1944 radio operator B-25 Mitchell damaged and before ditching between Wewak and and Muschu Island, Pearl managed to transmit an
"S. O. S." message that resulted in their rescue but was unable to exit the plane and likely drown when the plane sank. He remains listed as Missing In Action (MIA).
