Wartime History
During April 1943, assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Boomerang A46-53. Assigned to 4 Squadron. Later, assigned to 8 Communications Unit (8 Comm Unit). No known nickname or nose art.

Mission History
On January 10, 1944 took off from Vivigani Airfield on Goodenough Island on a mission. During the flight, this Boomerang had a rough running engine. Landing at Vivigani Airfield on the marston matting (PSP) surfaced runway during wet conditions. After touching down, the brakes were ineffective causing the Boomerang to ground loop, snapping off the undercarriage and causing extensive damage to aircraft.
