Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructor Number 4726. On September 18, 1942 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47-DL Skytrain serial number 41-18601. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History On October 26, 1942, assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF). Australian call sign VH-CCS. Later, call sign VH-CFX "South Wind". On March 20, 1945 this C-47 returned to the United States. On July 25, 1945 assigned to Air Transport Command (ATC) to the Pacific Wing. Postwar Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared postwar.
