Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructor Number 4642. On August 21, 1942 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47-DL Skytrain serial number 41-38614. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF) to an unknown Troop Carrier Group and an unknown Troop Carrier Squadron (? TCS). No known nickname or nose art. During 1943, photographed loading a grader into the fuselage door in New Guinea. During April 1944 departs the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) and flown across the Pacific back to the United States arriving April 18, 1944. Postwar Sold to a private owner and registered in the United States as NC67651. During December 1953 owned by Standard Air. In 1954 owned by Aloha Airlines. Leased to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). During 1971 owned by Lake Riverside Estates. Mission History On June 27, 1971 crashed at at Shelter Cove, south of Eureka, CA.
