Aircraft History
Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Contract Number AC-20669 Constructors Number 9282. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47A-20-DL Dakota serial number 42-23420. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 374th Troop Carrier Group (374th TCG), 21st Troop Carrier Squadron (21st TCS). No known nickname or nose art.

Mission History
On November 16, 1943 took off from Batchelor Field near Darwin piloted by 1st Lt. Raymond E. Anglin on a flight bound for Archerfield Airfield near Brisbane. Aboard were passengers. Due to bad weather and thunderstorms, crashed south of Springsure killing everyone aboard.

Wreckage
Afterwards, the remains of the crew and passengers were recovered and buried in Australia. Postwar, their remains were transported to the United States for permenant burial.

Memorials
The entire crew was officially declared dead the day of the mission.

An is buried at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, TX in section 19.
