Aircraft History
Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructors Number 10222. On September 11, 1943 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47A-60-DL Skytrain serial number 42-24360.

Wartime History
On October 7, 1943 assigned to the 10th Air Force (10th AF), 28th Transport Group (28th TG), 97th Transport Squadron (97th TS).

Mission History
On November 2, 1943 took off from Yunnani Airfield in China piloted by 1st Lt. John A. Deaux, Jr. on a flight bound for Misamari AIrfield in India. When this aircraft failed to arrive it was officially listed as Missing In Action (MIA).

Wreckage
On October 19, 2003 this crash site was discovered by Clayton Kuhles / MIA Recoveries near a lake in northern Burma.

Memorials
The entire crew was officially declared dead the day of the mission. Memorialized on the tablets of the missing at Manila American Cemetery.
