Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructors Number 20800. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47B-1-DL Skytrain serial number 43-16333. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA). Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 374th Troop Carrier Group (374th TCG). On the left side of the nose was Nose number / Buzz Number W 521 in white. The "W" was hand painted above 2 in the the stenciled 521 below. During 1945, damaged on the top of the fuselage, possibly on Biak Island. Afterwards likely written off. Ultimate fate unknown likely abandoned and scrapped.
