Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructors Number 33109. Delivered to the U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47B-30-DK Skytrain serial number 44-76777. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History During May 1945 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as C-47B Dakota serial number A65-100. Australian call sign VH-RFQ. Assigned to No. 35 Squadron and No. 36 Squadron. In 1975 struck off charge and delivered to Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) as P65-100 with registration P2-001. During 1994, sold to P. Starr and listed on the Australian Civil Register as VH-ATO. Later it was to be registered as VH-DNF with Dakota National Air, though this was never taken up. In March 2013 the aircraft was sold to the Butler Air Transport Museum at Tooraweenah, NSW. Today In August 2014 the aircraft appeared for sale in a classified advertisement.
