Aircraft History Built by Aichi estimated to have been built during early October 1942. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). Assigned to the 582 Kōkūtai (582 Air Group). Tail code 82-227. Wartime History This Val operated from Lae Airfield. On January 10, 1943 abandoned as unserviceable at Lae Airfield. Wreckage On September 16, 1943 this aircraft was among the Japanese aircraft captured at Lae Airfield. Later, this aircraft was investigated by Allied Technical Intelligence Unit (ATIU) and the manufacture number and tail number were noted. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
