D3A2 Val 3077 being salvaged by locals working for salvager Robert Diemert on Ballale Island
In the foreground is one of the wing fuel tanks with a pair of pliers atop. At the center a local is using a hacksaw to cut the left wing while another local man observes. Behind the man sawing is the left landing gear leg. The fuselage has both wings crudely cut off and is propped up on an empty fuel drum.
