The Jake has a cover over the engine and another cover partially removed over the rear canopy. The seaplane is on a dolly at the center of a concrete ramp. In the distance is Dawapia Rocks (The Beehives) and Japanese ships at anchor and partially sunk. In the distance at the center left is the southern end of Matupi Island and in the distance at center right is Karavia Bay and Blanche Bay bordering the northeastern tip of New Britain.
