Aircraft History Built by Kawanishi. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Navy Type 2 High-speed Reconnaissance Seaplane Shiun Model 11 / E15K1 (Norm). Wartime History On April 30, 1944 assigned to 61st Air Flotilla, 12th Reconnaissance Squadron. No known markings. On June 1, 1944 arrived Palau. Mission History This Shiun was shot down or crashed off Palau. Wreckage The wreckage of this Shiun is on a sandy bottom at a depth of 100'. The engine, four bladed contra-rotating propellers. Also the support for the center pontoon and tail section. This plane was known to the Palau SCUBA diving community. During April 4-6, 2013 a team from Bent Prop SCUBA dived the wreckage.
