Aircraft History
Built by Mitsubishi at Nagoya No. 3 Works. At the factory, painted with dark green upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces with the upper portion of the nose and inside of each engine cowling painted black. The leading edge of the wing was painted with a yellow identification stripe. The fuselage Hinomaru (Rising Sun) was inside a white square. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 1 Attack Bomber Hamaki / G4M1 Betty manufacture number 714.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 11th Air Flotilla, Headquarters Transport. Tail code P-911. This Betty was destroyed on the ground at Lae Airfield.

Wreckage
On September 16, 1943 this aircraft was captured by the Australian Army at Lae Airfield. The nose section and most of the fuselage was destroyed by fire. The tail section with tail number P-911 remained intact. After the Allied occupation of Lae Airfield, this aircraft was moved into a pile of Japanese aircraft wreckage. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
