Aircraft History
Built by 1st Army Air Arsenal, estimated date of assembly March 1943. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Type 99 / Ki-51 Sonia manufacture number 2051. Unknown if this aircraft was a reconnaissance version or assault version.

Wartime History
Assigned to an unknown unit. No known markings. This Sonia operated from New Guinea until abandoned at Alexishafen Airfield.

Wreckage
This Sonia fuselage center section and wing remained in situ at Alexishafen Airfield. During the 1970s, manufacture number 2051 was noted by Charles Darby. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
